Can Video Games Help College Study Skills?

College teachers soon discover at the start of a new semester that many of their students are woefully lacking in the study skills that lead to success. And yet these same students are often very skillful at video games.

In a recent issue of www.theeagle.comThe Federation of American Scientists have discovered that video games can be converted into serious learning tools for schools.

The Federation's theory is that these games teach the same skills that employers want, such as analytical thinking, team building, multitasking and problem-solving under duress.

If their call for federal research to turn the video game technology into learning tools is answered, the only thing left will be to convince the education community to embrace this alternative way of learning.
