Are Homeschoolers Ready for the Real World?

The biggest concern about homeschooling is it doesn't prepare students for getting along with others in the real world. But increasingly this is being shown as not true.

Patti Hobbs, mother of six, is happy to report that the fears that homeschoolers will be socially immature and academically inferior are unfounded. A recent article in the Ozark Newsstand reveals that after 20 years of homeschooling her children, Patti is proud to watch her two sons graduate with honors with bachelors' degrees from University of Missouri-Rolla. They are both now enrolled in doctoral programs at different universities.

Although Patti's sons admit that they had some adjustment problems in college, they were no worse than the transition problems all new college students experience. Their strong sense of accountability and eagerness to learn helped the Hobbs' brothers quickly work through the problems and excel in their studies.

If you or someone you know has been homeschooled, what has been your experience with transitioning to the traditional classroom?
